It only took one “incident” with Veronica Milito's firstborn to learn the importance of “the spare outfit.” The setting: a busy restaurant. The suspect: an upset tummy. The fallout: baby went home in a diaper and a cardigan.

Two babies later, she still dreaded packing the all-too-necessary spare gear. Picking the outfit was always a chore. The outfit in the diaper bag was quickly mismatched.
